It has come to my unfortunate attention that the Girl Scouts have begun their annual cookie drive. Not good for those new years resolutions, but YUM!
I was a Girl Scout when I was younger – Troop 74. And I must say that I learned many wonderful things, many of the basic heirloom traditions that I’ve carried with me still today. The proper dress, cooking & crafting things, camping & making friends, doing good in the community.
A wonderful tradition for children today, as families grow busier and busier – the basic skills are still so relevant and even more important. And, then there is the cookies! There seem to be new ones that come & go each year, but the old standard trefoils, thin mints, samoas and tagalongs that nearly everyone can releate to!
